VFW Post 8905 Thompson-Patton-Zhan is seeking members interested in learning ceremonial honors and helping establish an active Post Honor Guard. Honor Guard service provides veterans with another meaningful opportunity to serve. Members may represent Post 8905 at patriotic ceremonies, memorial observances, parades, community events and other occasions honoring veterans and the United States. Volunteers do not need previous Honor Guard or ceremonial experience. Post members who are willing to learn, practice and perform ceremonies with professionalism, dignity and respect are encouraged to participate. Training may include: Post 8905 will provide volunteers with guidance and training in appropriate ceremonial procedures. Necessary ceremonial equipment will be made available to trained and authorized Honor Guard members when required. Building a dependable Honor Guard requires members willing to train together and represent the Post when called upon. Whether you have previous ceremonial experience or are beginning for the first time, your participation can help Post 8905 honor veterans, preserve military traditions and serve the Cypress community.
