Community service is central to the mission of VFW Post 8905 Thompson-Patton-Zhan. Our commitment to service did not end when we removed the uniform. Today, our members continue serving veterans, military families, youth and the Cypress community. Post 8905 participates in community events, patriotic observances, veteran-support activities and youth programs. We are proud to support organizations and programs that strengthen our community, including local Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Young Marines. Strong communities are built through cooperation. Post 8905 works to develop relationships with community leaders, schools, civic organizations, local businesses, first responders and other nonprofit organizations. These partnerships help us identify community needs, support local veterans and military families, promote patriotism and create opportunities for veterans to continue serving alongside their neighbors. VFW Post 8905 Thompson-Patton-Zhan fosters camaraderie among veterans of overseas conflicts, advocates for and assists veterans and their families, honors the memory of those who served, promotes patriotism, and serves the Cypress community through fellowship, education, remembrance, and community service.
That the purpose of this Corporation shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational: to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead; and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies.
